관리자 / 2023-03-08
EUROBIKE is the central platform for the bike and future mobility universe. After 30 years as the world's leading trade show for the bike industry at Messe Friedrichshafen, EUROBIKE premiered at its new location in the trade fair and mobility metropolis of Frankfurt.
The Eurobike Show 2022 was held in Germany, the center of the cargo bike.
The global market demand for cargo bikes is increasing rapidly. The global cargo bike market grew about 10.8% year on year as of 2021. The total sales amount to about $900 million. The long-term outlook is also positive.
Here, there have been many interesting events and the presence of large and small companies in the cycling world. The exhibition, in which 1,500 companies, the largest ever, participated, showed keen interest in the bicycle industry after a brief slowdown due to COVID-19. Among them, various cargo bikes (freight bicycles), which are attracting attention as one of the future eco-friendly mobility in the logistics industry, caught the attention of visitors at the exhibition. In particular, as Germany is considered the best-settled country for cargo bikes in the world, not only local companies but also cargo bike models developed around the world competed with each other at the Eurobike Show.

ECCOV also participated and received much attention from visitors.
ECCOV Inc., an e-bike developer in Korea, officially launched its modular cargo e-bike, E-Tricycle at EUROBIKE 2022. The Eccov E-Tricycle is becoming one of the most common components used for food or small package delivery coinciding with the rapid growth of remote or distanced services in this era of COVID-19.
ECCOV has become a pioneer of ‘micro-mobility,’ which encompasses various businesses ranging from electric bicycles, electric two-wheeled vehicles, and ultra-small electric vehicle body structures, with its flagship item ECCOV modular platform architecture (EMPA) utilizing automotive body production technology.

K-Cargo Bike Has Enough Competition
Lim Sundae, CEO of ECCOV said that there was a big difference in the driving environment between German and Korean cargo bikes. He said, "In Germany, bicycles were already recognized as a culture in everyday life, so the road infrastructure was designed to make bicycles easier to operate." In other words, fewer steep uphill and steep curves can be an obstacle to driving a cargo bike compared to Korea. On the other hand, indeed, it is not enough to say that roads for bicycles are still well prepared in Korea. CEO Lim explained, "There is a difference between the function of the cargo bike required in Germany and the function of the cargo bike required in Korea due to the difference in road infrastructure."
Nevertheless, CEO Lim believes that Korean-style cargo bikes are sufficiently competitive. "There are indeed many challenges to be solved in the future, such as confidence in the stability of the solution, operating data, and operational performance" but, "Since we have received positive reviews for ECCOV models in the region, we expect to compete enough in the global cargo bike market."
By introducing the E-Tricycle at EUROBIKE 2022, ECCOV is expected to open a new chapter in last-mile logistics in the global market.
ECCOV is planning to attend EUROBIKE 2023 in June this year. ECCOV hopes to bring more complete products to the exhibition and hopes to reap many opportunities from this time.
